A safety company, one product at a time.
Nuvella Labs exists because getting around should come with more information and more support than it does today.
The company. Nuvella Labs is a safety company. The long-term goal is ambitious on purpose: all things safety, built through different projects and different apps, each one doing a single job properly.
The first product. Nuvella is a safety navigation app. It plans routes for walking and biking that weigh recent incidents and street lighting, shows transit stops, and stays with you with turn-by-turn guidance, live sharing, check-ins and a one-tap Escape. It is piloting at UC Berkeley, in the City of Berkeley and in Emeryville, and it is free during the pilot.
How we work. We say where our numbers come from. We call a safety score an estimate, not a guarantee. We ask for as little personal data as the job needs. Those rules apply to every product we build after this one.
